Actor Emre Kınay took action against the harsh criticism and insults directed at him following moments of laughter on the theater stage. Kınay, who announced that he had each social media comment recorded and that he would initiate legal proceedings, said that he would allocate all compensation obtained from the lawsuits to feeding the cats and dogs in shelters.
Actor Emre Kınay reacted to the insults and profanity directed at him after a laughing fit during the theater play “Two Singles,” in which he appeared on stage with Evrim Alasya. Kınay, who announced that he would initiate legal proceedings because of comments made about him, stated that he would use the compensation obtained from the lawsuits he files for the needs of cats and dogs in shelters.
LAUGHING FIT ON THE THEATER STAGE DREW REACTION
The unexpected moments during “Two Singles,” starring Evrim Alasya and Emre Kınay, were captured on an audience member’s cell phone camera. During one part of the play, Kınay began laughing at Evrim Alasya’s performance and had difficulty controlling his laughter. After the footage was shared, some audience members found these moments amusing, while others criticized the actors’ behavior on stage.
“WE WILL SUE THEM ALL”
Speaking about the footage, Emre Kınay stated that he would take legal action against insulting and profane comments directed at him. Emphasizing that he has been doing theater for 35 years, the actor said that a person can sometimes get angry or laugh during a live performance.
Kınay used the following statements in his explanation:
“From now on, I have handed over to the lawyer anyone who insults or swears in the comments. As of now, footage of all of them has been taken, and lawsuits are being filed. Because in a play they did not watch—we are human, I have been doing this for 35 years. Sometimes a person gets upset, sometimes you laugh.”

Kınay also explained where the compensation obtained from the lawsuits he will file would go, saying that he would use all of this money to feed the animals in shelters.
The actor said, “With the compensation money we get from here, we will feed the dogs and cats in the shelter, without touching a single penny of it.”

Stating that the theater play is a live performance and that unexpected situations can happen on stage at any moment, Kınay drew attention to the line between criticism and insult. Reacting to those who commented without watching the play, the actor said, “First come to a theater, understand what it is.”
Kınay also stated that necessary action would be taken regarding comments made through zero-follower and bot accounts, and said that from now on he would not allow his morale to be spoiled before going on stage.
