With the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Tax Inspection Board President Muhsin Atcı was appointed as the President of the Capital Markets Board (SPK). Following the appointment, the life and career of SPK's new president Muhsin Atcı became a matter of curiosity.
The appointment decree signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, in accordance with Article 119 of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362 and Articles 2, 3 and 7 of Presidential Decree No. 3, Muhsin Atcı, Chairman of the Tax Inspection Board, was appointed as Chairman of the Capital Markets Board (SPK), Ersin Başar Ekmekci as Vice Chairman, and Yasemin Girici as a member.
WHO IS MUHSİN ATCI?
After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration, SPK Chairman Muhsin Atcı completed a master's degree in Development Policy at Duke University in the USA in 2014.
Atcı, who is continuing his doctoral education in the Department of Finance at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, began his professional career in 2003 as an Assistant Tax Inspector; in 2005 he served as a Trainee Revenue Controller, in 2008 as a Revenue Controller, and in 2010 as Deputy Head of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department; in 2011, with the establishment of the Tax Inspection Board, he was appointed as a Tax Inspector.
Atcı served as Head of the Ankara Large-Scale Taxpayers Group between September 15, 2014 and July 7, 2017, and as Deputy Chairman of the Tax Inspection Board between July 31, 2017 and April 18, 2019, and was appointed Chairman of the Tax Inspection Board on October 7, 2023.
