Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumaklı, is on the field to inspect the ongoing forest fires. Minister Yumaklı also inspected the fire in Bozdoğan district of Aydın and provided information about the measures taken to prevent the spread of the flames. Yumaklı said, "We have reduced the pressure. We are intervening with 8 planes and 14 helicopters. We will give good news in a short time."

The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, is conducting comprehensive inspections in İzmir and Aydın to assess the forest fires that have been affecting the region. Following the fire that started in the Örnekköy region of İzmir and rapidly spread, Minister Yumaklı visited the fire area. He then traveled to the Bozdoğan district of Aydın, reviewing the measures taken and providing information to the press about the current situation.

"WE HAVE REDUCED THE PRESSURE, WORK CONTINUES WITH 8 PLANES AND 14 HELICOPTERS"

In his statement, Minister Yumaklı said, "The fire in Milas district of Muğla has been brought under control. Power has been reduced in Göynük, Karabük Ovacık, and Manisa Gördes. If no new fire breaks out, we will prioritize these fires."

Yumaklı stated that they have reduced the pressure in Bozdoğan, Aydın, and that the work continues with 8 planes and 14 helicopters. He said, "One of these planes is the B-200, a heavy-class fire-fighting aircraft that we brought to Turkey in recent weeks. We have also directed it here. The smoke behind us that you see is near Alhisar village, which is the starting point of the fire. Unfortunately, there is a fire that started in rural areas and spread to the forest."

Although it is not certain, we believe that we have come to this situation due to negligence. I mentioned yesterday that there was a strong wind that could almost knock down a flagpole. Now we still have wind, but not like yesterday. We have two points, the north and the south. The north is not critical, but the south is critical for us. Because if it surpasses that point, there are very productive forests. It will be much more challenging for us there," he said.

"10 PERSONNEL AND 59 CITIZENS AFFECTED BY SMOKE"

Yumaklı stated that there is a vital danger for the teams in case the wind increases significantly. He said, "Güre, Hışımlar, and Malküpü neighborhoods have been evacuated. 3 houses in Hışımlar and 2 houses in Örmepınar have been damaged. 10 of our personnel and 59 citizens have been affected by the smoke, but there is no risk to their health."

"DO NOT LIGHT A MATCH IN OPEN AREAS"

Minister Yumaklı emphasized that the intervention to the fire has become more difficult due to the wind. He said, "If no other fire breaks out, we will provide good news about these fires. What actually challenges us are the meteorological conditions. We urge all citizens to be cautious. Do not light a match in open areas, do not light a barbecue during picnics, do not throw cigarette butts on the ground. Our citizens should show sensitivity. A 9 km line has been formed. There are open areas. It's not just forest areas. After everything is over, our organization will report the affected areas. The affected areas are not necessarily burned areas. Our colleagues will provide precise information about these."
