The incident occurred on Suat Baykal Street in the Şahsüleyman neighborhood. According to obtained information, an argument broke out between a young woman named H.E. and her fiancé F.S., who were preparing to get married soon, over an alleged cancellation of the engagement. As the verbal argument quickly turned into a fight, H.E. had a nervous breakdown and broke the windows at home. The enraged young woman used sharp glass pieces to injure her fiancé F.S. on his arm.
TOOK FIANCÉ HOSTAGE
After the incident, H.E., whose anger did not subside, locked both herself and her bleeding, injured fiancé in a room at home and attempted suicide. Upon hearing the cries of nearby citizens and receiving a report, numerous police, medical, and fire department teams were dispatched to the address.
FIREFIGHTERS DEPLOYED AIR MATTRESS, POLICE RACED AGAINST TIME
Considering the possibility that the young woman might jump from the window, fire department teams immediately deployed an air mattress in front of the building and took extensive safety precautions. Police negotiation teams spent a long time trying to persuade the angry woman behind the locked door. After intense efforts, H.E. was convinced, opened the door, and surrendered.
F.S., who was injured in the arm during the incident, and H.E., who suffered a severe nervous breakdown, were taken to Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Training and Research Hospital in separate ambulances after initial medical intervention.
