New details have emerged in the investigation regarding the theft of 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver from the trust office at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse in Istanbul. It has been revealed that the fugitive suspect of the robbery, Erdal Timurtaş, sent messages to his relatives saying, "I want to benefit from effective remorse; they used me and didn't give me any money." One of the suspects has become a whistleblower, and it has been uncovered that a gang was behind the robbery. Meanwhile, new footage related to the theft has also surfaced.
As part of the theft investigation in the judicial safe conducted by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out at 50 different addresses. The number of detainees in the investigation has risen to 16.
TIMURTAŞ: I CAN BENEFIT FROM EFFECTIVE REMORSE According to the information included in the investigation file, it was learned that the suspect Erdal Timurtaş stated in a message sent to a friend, 'I have no crime, they used me. They didn't even give me money. They threatened my family. I can benefit from effective remorse.' Allegations suggest that during the robbery, while gold and silver were being taken out of the courthouse, it was claimed that there was an armed person waiting to open fire on security personnel in case of a possible intervention against Erdal Timurtaş.
STOLEN GOLD CONVERTED TO CASH, CAR DEALERSHIP ESTABLISHED WITH MONEY According to the findings in the file, one of the suspects who was detained became a whistleblower, wanting to benefit from the provisions of effective remorse. Investigations revealed that a portion of the stolen gold and silver was melted down at jewelers and converted into cash, and that the obtained money was attempted to be laundered. It was determined that the suspects established a car dealership company with this money, and vehicles were purchased within the dealership. The suspects who established the dealership were arrested, and all of the vehicles in question were confiscated.
ALLEGATION OF A PLAN TO FALL ON TIMURTAŞ The theft, which initially appeared to be carried out by a single person, was actually revealed to have been planned by an organized structure. It was determined that M. S., who is alleged to be the leader of the suspects, was waiting in a vehicle during the robbery. It was learned that M. S. was on the run with his cousin M. E.

It was also stated that Metin Soner, who was found to be waiting in another vehicle, was arrested and sent to prison. Additionally, it was determined that the rental company from which the vehicles used in the theft were obtained was also involved in the incident. It was learned that Burak Çiçek, the owner of the company, and the real estate agent Gülsüm Varol, who was found to have been delivered for the purpose of laundering money, were among those arrested. According to the findings in the file, it was determined that the suspects went to Ağrı after the theft to hold a meeting, acted under the assumption that the incident would not be revealed, and planned for all the crime to fall on Erdal Timurtaş. As part of the investigation, the assets of all suspects were frozen.
Meanwhile, messages from the arrested suspect Ömer Karaca on WhatsApp have emerged. In his message, Karaca was seen writing, "Another 100 thousand euros may come, a total of 200 thousand euros, 'Can we do dealership with 5 million money?'

WHAT HAPPENED? During inspections conducted due to the long absence of the service staff member Erdal Timurtaş, who was assigned to the custody office at the Büyükçekmece Courthouse, it was determined that 25 kilograms of gold and 50 kilograms of silver had been stolen.
After the prosecutor's office identified the situation, it was revealed that Erdal Timurtaş and his wife Esma Timurtaş flew to England from Sabiha Gökçen Airport with their children on November 19. A red notice was issued for the arrest of Erdal Timurtaş and his wife.
Within the scope of the investigation, the judicial custody officer Kemal D., who was determined to have the key to the room, was arrested in the first operation carried out. In the second operation related to the incident, suspects Ömer K., Zeynep V., Eyüp İ. S., Gülsüm V., and Yunus E. K. were arrested and sent to prison. On the other hand, judicial control in the form of house arrest was applied to suspects Burak Ç., Mehmet T., and Mehtap S., while the other 5 suspects were released under the condition of a travel ban abroad.
