The indictment regarding the murder of the bagel seller Ramazan Elkıtay in Yalova revealed that the murder order came from the Barış Boyun Gang and that the hitmen were promised 1 million lira along with a promise of escape abroad.

Barber Ramazan Elkıtay, who was killed in a gun attack in front of his house in Yalova 15 months ago, was linked to the Barış Boyun Gang. The indictment revealed that Elkıtay was targeted on the grounds of "acting as an informant" and that two underage hitmen were promised money and a chance to escape abroad for carrying out the murder.

THE INSTRUCTION CAME FROM FUGITIVE GANG LEADERS

According to the information in the indictment, the murder order was given by gang leaders S.Ö. and V.A., who are on the run in Greece, along with their representatives in Istanbul, H.B. It was determined that the suspects had agreed with two hitmen under the age of 18 to carry out the execution.

1 MILLION LIRA AND PROMISE OF ESCAPE ABROAD

According to the investigation file, the gang promised the hitmen 1 million lira and a guarantee of being smuggled to Greece in exchange for carrying out the attack. The suspects, who had a video call with the instigators a day before the incident, procured the weapons they would use in the murder from Istanbul and moved to Yalova. It was determined that the hitmen conducted reconnaissance around Ramazan Elkıtay's house and bagel stand for hours and waited in ambush for the attack.

KILLED WITH 5 BULLETS IN FRONT OF HIS HOUSE

It was found that the suspects acted when Elkıtay entered his house in the evening. The attackers, who emerged from the ambush, shot Ramazan Elkıtay multiple times, killing him with 5 bullets. The investigation launched after the murder uncovered the organized crime connection behind the incident.

"TARGETED BECAUSE HE ACTED AS AN INFORMANT"

The reason for the murder was also included in the witness statements presented to the court. Witness G.E. stated that Elkıtay had previously worked for the gang but was targeted on the grounds of acting as an informant against the gang. Elkıtay's wife also mentioned in her statement that her husband had been in contact with some individuals connected to crime and had experienced serious fear and anxiety in the last month.

REQUEST FOR AGGRAVATED LIFE SENTENCE FOR CHILD HITMEN

In the case opened at the Yalova 1st Heavy Penal Court, aggravated life sentences were requested for the hitmen A.F. and K.B. for "intentional murder" and "being a member of a criminal organization." However, due to the defendants being under 18 at the time of the crime, it was requested that the sentence be reduced to between 18 and 24 years. The investigation into the fugitive gang members is ongoing.
