Police officials reported that an attack was carried out with an improvised explosive device at a market in the city of Wana in the South Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, near the Afghan border.
TRIBAL LEADER KILLED
South Waziristan Police Chief Muhammad Tahir announced that 3 people, including the leader of the Ahmedzai tribe whose vehicle was targeted in the attack, lost their lives, and 4 others were injured.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Authorities announced that an investigation has been launched into the incident. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack targeting the leader of the Ahmedzai tribe, which constitutes the majority of the region's population.
