Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek made striking statements about Mauro Icardi, whose contract will expire at the end of the season, while evaluating the agenda during a press conference. Özbek emphasized that the news regarding the Argentine star does not reflect the truth.
"WHAT PROBLEM COULD THERE BE BETWEEN ICARDI AND GALATASARAY?"
Reacting to the allegations made about Icardi, Dursun Özbek said, "We are under fire from all sides. These news are being circulated even though there is no such conflict within the club. What problem could there be between Icardi and Galatasaray? What problem!"
"A SYMBOL, ONE OF OUR ICONIC PLAYERS"
Özbek highlighted the importance of Icardi for Galatasaray, stating that the contributions of the Argentine striker in recent years are undeniable. Özbek said, "Icardi is one of our most important players. Who can deny his service in the last 3 seasons? He went through a serious injury, and we have been waiting for his recovery for almost a year. He is gradually getting better. He has become a symbol, one of the iconic footballers for Galatasaray," he said.
"WHO BENEFITS FROM PORTRAYING GALATASARAY AS UNGRATEFUL?"
President Özbek argued that Galatasaray is being deliberately targeted, saying, "Who benefits from portraying Galatasaray as so ungrateful? Everyone is doing their best to bring Galatasaray down. None of these affect us. We are progressing on the path we believe in, focused on success," he stated.
"GALATASARAY IS ONE FIST"
Özbek pointed out that there are attempts to confuse the community with baseless news, saying, "They want to disrupt Galatasaray with ridiculous news, but no one can disrupt Galatasaray. Everyone should be careful when making news. Galatasaray is one fist," he expressed.
"OUR FANS WILL BE SATISFIED AT THE END OF THE SEASON"
Concluding his statements with hopeful words, Dursun Özbek said, "No one should worry. Galatasaray will achieve its goals and will satisfy its fans at the end of the season," he added.
