CAMPAIGN FOR THOSE WITH 3 OR MORE CHILDREN
The Ministry of Industry and Technology is taking various steps to strengthen Turkey's domestic automotive industry infrastructure. In this context, a vehicle purchase support is being prepared for families with three or more children to facilitate access to automobiles. The program aims to provide long-term financing options compatible with the purchasing power of low-income groups.
High demand is expected for the "My First Car Domestic Automobile Family Support Program." It is anticipated that the increase in vehicle ownership rates among low-income groups will enhance family mobility and contribute to social welfare levels. It is also expected that meeting families' demand with domestic and brand new local cars will reduce the average age of passenger vehicles in the country, thereby decreasing carbon emissions per vehicle. The support provided is also expected to reflect in the sales of Turkey's domestic and national car, Togg.
2030 MARKET TARGET OF 35%
In line with the goals of making cars more accessible in Turkey and increasing the share of domestic production in the domestic market, it is important for existing manufacturers to adopt new technologies, as well as for emerging new manufacturers in the global market to produce and develop technology in Turkey. In 2022, a "Mobility Vehicles and Technologies Strategy Roadmap" was published to ensure transformation in the automotive sector, which is the country's export leader. The roadmap identified concrete targets in many strategic areas, from electric vehicle and battery production to charging stations, from the development of driverless vehicles to test centers, with the aim of increasing the market share of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to 35% and the localization rate to 75% by 2030. Additionally, setting goals to be a leader in Europe and among the top 5 in the world in the production of electric, connected, and autonomous light and heavy commercial vehicles, as well as the implementation, monitoring, and updating of these strategies in line with developments, is considered critical for Turkey to maintain its relative advantages in the sector.
SYMBOL IN THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR
Togg is seen not only as an electric and smart car but also as a symbol leading the transformation of Turkey's automotive industry. As one of the flagship projects of the National Technology Initiative vision, Togg promotes innovation by collaborating with over 40 startups and supports mobility initiatives. The development of Togg, Turkey's first domestic electric car, serves as an important catalyst in the widespread establishment of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and the strengthening of the mobility ecosystem. Togg's innovative approaches and its strong tech entrepreneurship ecosystem accelerate the transformation in the mobility sector. This transformation is said to enhance Turkey's international competitiveness and create new business and entrepreneurial opportunities. With Togg's success in global markets, it is expected to accelerate the transformation of the mobility ecosystem and provide new momentum for global investments, reinforcing Turkey's leadership goals in technology and innovation.
