Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who shared a post accompanied by Ferdi Tayfur's song "Hatıran Yeter" for those who will be traveling due to Ramadan Feast, stated, "Please, let’s strictly adhere to traffic rules. Never exceed the speed limit, and always wear our seatbelts. Let’s not get behind the wheel when we are tired and sleepy; our eyes should be on the road, not on our mobile phones."

SHORT FILM TOUCHED HEARTS

In the short film shared by Yerlikaya on his social media account, a person listening to the radio at home on the morning of the feast gets emotional as he raises the volume while listening to Ferdi Tayfur's song 'Hatıran Yeter' on the radio. At that moment, his wife enters the screen and says, 'Come on, let’s go, dear, they are waiting for us today.' The couple visits the graves of their children and grandchildren, whom they lost in a traffic accident.

"SOMETIMES MEMORIES ARE NOT ENOUGH"

In a post made on his social media account with the note "sometimes memories are not enough" for those who will be traveling during Ramadan Feast, Minister Yerlikaya drew attention to the fact that 483 people lost their lives and 26,331 were injured during the last 5 years only during Ramadan Feast holidays.

"LET'S NEVER EXCEED THE SPEED LIMIT, AND ALWAYS WEAR OUR SEATBELTS"

Addressing drivers who will be traveling for the holiday, Yerlikaya said, "The roads exist to bring us together with our loved ones, not to separate us. Sometimes, a moment of patience we show in traffic can bring a lifetime of happiness. And on the mornings of the feast, our loved ones will not be left with their heads bowed. In fatal traffic accidents, after 'exceeding the speed limit', the most important factors include 'lane keeping and changing', 'right of way', 'rear-end collisions', 'turning rules', and 'red light violations'. "Please, let’s strictly adhere to traffic rules. Never exceed the speed limit, and always wear our seatbelts. Let’s not get behind the wheel when we are tired and sleepy; our eyes should be on the road, not on our mobile phones," he stated.
