The master actor of Yeşilçam, Kadir İnanır, will be bid farewell on his final journey after the ceremonies held today. Hours before the memorial program at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage, the hall began to fill with crowds. Many wreaths were sent to the ceremony, which was also attended by the Peace Mothers, and his admirers took their places at the event.

Kadir İnanır, who fell ill on May 14 and was hospitalized, and had been receiving intensive care for a long time, passed away at the age of 77 due to multiple organ failure. A memorial ceremony will be held for the master artist today at 13:00 at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage.

PEACE MOTHERS ALSO ATTENDED THE CEREMONY

Activity began around the hall hours before the ceremony. Many people, including Kadir İnanır's family, loved ones, and fans, have already filled the ceremony area. In the images broadcast by journalist Rojda Altıntaş from the hall, it was seen that the Peace Mothers also attended the ceremony.

HE WILL BE BIDDED FAREWELL ON HIS FINAL JOURNEY

After the ceremony in Harbiye, the funeral prayer for Kadir İnanır will be held at Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque. The master actor will then be laid to rest in Ulus Cemetery. İnanır's family will accept condolences at Akatlar Cultural Center.

CAUSE OF DEATH: MULTIPLE ORGAN FAILURE

In a statement from the hospital, it was stated that Kadir İnanır, who was battling advanced-stage lung cancer, was admitted to intensive care on May 14 after his respiratory failure worsened. It was announced that the master actor, whose condition worsened due to acute kidney failure and respiratory failure caused by advanced-stage lung cancer, died as a result of multiple organ failure. İnanır had also undergone long-term treatment in 2024 due to a blood clot in his cerebral vessel.

WHO IS KADİR İNANIR?

Master artist Kadir İnanır was born on April 15, 1949, in Ordu, Fatsa. Born in Fatsa, Kadir İnanır is originally from Trabzon, Sürmene, and is the youngest child of his family. During his primary and secondary school education in Fatsa, he showcased his stage talent in various school performances. After attending Istanbul Haydarpaşa High School as a boarder, İnanır graduated from the Radio-Television Department of Marmara University Faculty of Communication.

While continuing his education, Kadir İnanır also started modeling, and in 1967 he participated in a competition organized by Ses Magazine. Although he did not place in the competition, which also included Uğur Güçlü, Engin Çağlar, Aykut Bora, Sümer Tilmaç, Demir Karahan, and Sühan Baydar, Kadir İnanır won first place in the "Photoplay Artist Competition" of the Saklambaç newspaper held in 1968.

İnanır began his silver screen adventure with small roles. At the beginning of the 1970s, he appeared before the camera with Türkan Şoray. The character 'Şopen' he portrayed in the film 'Karagözlüm' became the key to fame for him.

After playing in photoplays for a while, he started in cinema with a small role in the film Yedi Adım Sonra (1968). He shared the lead roles with Türkan Şoray in the 1970 film Kara Gözlüm, directed by Atıf Yılmaz, in which he played the lead role for the first time. Later, by taking roles in many more films with Şoray, he became one of the leading male actors of Turkish cinema.

Thus began Kadir İnanır's unstoppable rise.

Besides Türkan Şoray, İnanır appeared before the camera with famous actresses of the period such as Filiz Akın, Serpil Çakmaklı, Müjde Ar, and Sibel Turnagöl.

Over time, he turned to more quality films. These films include Utanç (1972), Selvi Boylum, Al Yazmalım (1977) and Bir Yudum Sevgi (1984) directed by Atıf Yılmaz; Ah Güzel İstanbul (1981), Kırık Bir Aşk Hikayesi (1981) and Amansız Yol (1985) directed by Ömer Kavur; Tomruk (1982), Sen Türkülerini Söyle (1986) and Katırcılar (1987) directed by Şerif Gören; Suçumuz İnsan Olmak (1986) and 72. Koğuş (1987) directed by Erdoğan Tokatlı; Dikenli Yol (1986) directed by Zeki Alasya; Yedi Uyuyanlar (1988) directed by Zafer Par; Tatar Ramazan (1990) and Tatar Ramazan Sürgünde (1992) directed by Melih Gülgen.

Kadir İnanır was chosen Best Actor at the 5th Golden Cocoon Film Festival for the film Utanç (1973), where he shared the lead role with Filiz Akın, and won the Best Actor award at the 1986 Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for the 1985 film Yılanların Öcü directed by Şerif Gören, in which he shared the lead roles with Fatma Girik, Serpil Çakmaklı, Nur Sürer, and Erdal Özyağcılar. Kadir İnanır also won the Best Actor award at the 3rd Ankara Film Festival in 1990 for the film Medcezir Manzaraları. In 1998, he presented the main news bulletin on Flash TV for 8 months.

In recent Turkish cinema, the famous actor appeared in the 2000 film Komser Şekspir by Sinan Çetin. After 24 years, he reunited with Türkan Şoray in the 2003 film Gönderilmemiş Mektuplar. The duo, who were often paired together for many years, drew great interest with this film.

In 2005, he acted in the production Sinema Bir Mucizedir, directed by Memduh Ün and Tunç Başaran, where he shared the lead roles with Fatma Girik.

İnanır, who was also influential in the content of the films he acted in, generally portrayed honorable, devoted, and strong male characters. Having acted in a total of 182 films and 12 TV series, İnanır's longest-running series was the production titled Marziye. He hosted a news program called Böyle Gitmez broadcast on Kanal D between 1995 and 1996.

KADİR İNANIR'S PRIVATE LIFE

İnanır was originally from Sürmene. His father, Mehmet İnanır, was the son of İzzet Ağazade Ömer Ağa from the İsmailoğulları family. Kadir İnanır was born in Fatsa as a result of his father Mehmet İnanır's migration to Ordu, Fatsa in 1930. He was also the maternal uncle of musician Soner Arıca, former national football player Erdoğan Arıca, and actor Levent İnanır.

The actor, who preferred to keep his private life away from the public eye, embarked on a new love affair with his colleague Jülide Kural in 2002.
