The funeral program for master actor Kadir İnanır, who passed away at the age of 77, has been announced. The unforgettable leading man of Yeşilçam will be bid farewell tomorrow after a ceremony at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Istanbul.
Master artist Kadir İnanır, who etched himself into the memories of millions with the powerful characters he portrayed in Turkish cinema, has passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
HE PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 77
İnanır, who was urgently hospitalized on May 14 after being diagnosed with pneumonia due to an infection in his lungs, was admitted to the intensive care unit 6 days ago as his condition remained critical. The master actor, who was intubated under controlled conditions by his doctors due to increasing respiratory difficulties, succumbed to multiple organ failure and respiratory failure despite all intensive medical interventions by specialist physicians. The death of the legendary actor, who closed his eyes to life at the age of 77, plunged the art world and all of Turkey into mourning.
THE FIRST CEREMONY WILL BE HELD AT AKM
The details of the funeral ceremony to be held following the passing of the master artist have also been clarified. A memorial ceremony will first be organized for Kadir İnanır tomorrow at 13:00 at the Ataturk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul. At this ceremony, to be held for the life he devoted to Turkish cinema and the unforgettable legacy he left behind, his artist friends and admirers will pay their respects to the legendary figure.
HE WILL BE LAID TO REST IN ULUS CEMETERY
Following the memorial ceremony at AKM, the body of the master actor will be transferred to the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque in Levent. After the funeral prayer to be performed there, Kadir İnanır will be laid to rest in Ulus Cemetery with prayers, seeing him off on his final journey.
