A new statement has come from K.K., the tourism businessman father of 13-year-old A.E.K., who lived in the Milas district of Muğla and passed away from AIDS on November 11 while receiving treatment in Izmir. The grieving father said, "I learned that I was HIV positive while giving blood. I have no information on how it was transmitted to my son. As a father, I was very careful. We didn't even use common items. I couldn't even hug or kiss my son to prevent the disease from spreading. We have another small child. We don't want him to be affected by this incident."
A.E.K., a 13-year-old boy who was treated for suspected osteoporosis in İzmir but was found to have AIDS, passed away on November 11 at Ege University Medical Faculty Hospital. The death of A.E.K., an 8th-grade student, had a shocking effect.
NO SIGNS OF SEXUAL ABUSE FOUND
The unfortunate child, A.E.K., who lived in the Milas district of Muğla, had a younger brother named D.K. It was understood that A.E.K. contracted the disease from his tourism businessman father, K.K. An examination was conducted by the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution while A.E.K. was alive. The examination found no signs of sexual abuse.
INVESTIGATION AND LEGAL PROCESS CONTINUE
Additionally, reports were requested from the fields of Social Pediatrics and Child Psychiatry. The situation was reported to the Child Monitoring Center (ÇİM). Necessary psychiatric examinations were conducted on October 8 and October 17. The psychiatric examinations also indicated that there was no sexual abuse. It was learned that the investigation and legal process regarding the incident are ongoing.
