Two female thieves who stole gold worth 1.5 million lira and checks worth 6 million lira from a house they entered 3 months ago in Adana were caught by the homeowners and neighbors when they came to rob the same house again. The suspect, who tried to escape by pretending to have an epileptic seizure when caught, was arrested by the court when her act didn't work.
The incident occurred around 15:30 on August 31 in the Küçükdikili-Koza neighborhood of Seyhan district in Adana. Two women named Gökçe U. (24) and Yeter U. (26), who have a total of 100 separate criminal records, began forcing the door of the detached house where Güneş Buket Kılavuz and Fatma Kılavuz live. Panicking when the situation was noticed, the suspects began to flee. As a result of the chase by the homeowners and neighborhood residents, the two female thieves were caught red-handed within a short time.
SHE THREW HERSELF TO THE GROUND AND BEGAN TO THRASH AROUND WHEN CAUGHT
Yeter U., one of the suspects who realized she would be caught, suddenly threw herself to the ground and began to thrash around. Her companion Gökçe U. started shouting to those around, "My friend is having an epileptic seizure, call an ambulance immediately!" However, the homeowner Maşallah Kılavuz realized that the woman was faking it to avoid being caught. After Kılavuz's reaction, "She's only faking it to avoid being caught," Yeter U., realizing her act wasn't working, stood up shortly after as if nothing had happened.
LOCKPICKS FOUND IN MOSQUITO NETS AND BAGS
In the search conducted by police teams called to the scene, 3 technical apparatuses used to open doors, known as "lockpicks," were seized on the suspects. It was determined that suspect Yeter U. had 80 separate criminal records and Gökçe U. had 20.
"THEY HAD ALSO STOLEN OUR GOLD WORTH 1.5 MILLION 3 MONTHS AGO"
Homeowner Maşallah Kılavuz, describing the moments of terror, stated that the same people had entered their house before and said, "One threw herself to the ground, the other started shouting 'Call an ambulance, she's an epileptic.' In our opinion, she was just faking it to avoid being caught, and indeed, she came to her senses after a while. These people had also entered our house about 3 months ago and stolen our gold worth 1.5 million lira and our 6 checks worth millions of lira. We are filing a complaint."
After their procedures at the police station, Gökçe U. and Yeter U. were referred to the courthouse and were arrested by the duty judge and sent to prison.
