Fenerbahçe claimed that Galatasaray won the Turkish Swimming Championship with an unlicensed athlete on August 4-8, 2024.

It has been claimed that Galatasaray became the Turkish champion with its swimmer Doğa Çelik, who did not renew her license, participating in the Turkey Swimming Championship held from August 4-8, 2024, and achieving certain rankings.

THEY FILED A PROTEST

According to a news report in Birgün; Fenerbahçe, which finished the championship in second place, officially protested to the Turkish Swimming Federation (TYF) regarding the matter.

In the protest petition, reference was made to the first article of the section titled "Competition Participation Rules" in the competition regulations:

END DATE 2022

'In the instructions for the Turkey Arena Inter-Club Long Course Youth and Open Age Swimming Championship and Individual Swimming Competitions held on August 4-8, 2023, it is stated that only athletes with a valid license for the 2022-2023 season can participate in the competitions. However, it has been determined that Doğa Çelik, who participated in the competitions on behalf of Galatasaray Sports Club, did not have her license validated for the 2022-2023 season and competed without a valid license. The last validation date of Çelik's license is December 20, 2021, and the end date is September 30, 2022.'

In its protest, Fenerbahçe requested that Doğa Çelik be disqualified, the points awarded to Galatasaray be annulled, the team rankings be recalculated, and the Turkish champion be announced. Additionally, they requested a disciplinary investigation against those who allowed the athlete to compete with an invalid license.
