Fenerbahce forward Mergim Berisha's goal against Belgium's Royal Antwerp has been selected as this season's best in Europe's second-tier UEFA Europa League.

"Berisha's acrobatic effort for Fenerbahce has won the fan vote for goal of the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League season," said a UEFA statement on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old scored the stunner against Antwerp in November 2021, and the Turkish club had won the match held at the Bosuil Stadium in Deurne, Belgium 3-0.

The top 10 goals of the 2021/22 competition were selected by UEFA's Technical Observer panel, and then put to a vote.

Mirko Ivanic (Crvena zvezda) was second, while Rafael Borre (Eintracht Frankfurt) came third.

Berisha left Austria's RB Salzburg to join Fenerbahce in September 2021. He scored seven goals in 31 matches this season. -
