One of the leading figures of Arabesque music, Ferdi Tayfur, passed away in the hospital where he was receiving treatment. The artist, who had released many albums and unforgettable songs over the years, was 79 years old. HE HAD UNDERGONE SURGERYFerdi Tayfur fell ill at his home in Marmaris on December 15 and was first taken to a private hospital in the district, then transferred to another healthcare institution in Muğla. It was reported that Tayfur, who was treated in the intensive care unit of the general surgery department, had previously undergone a stent procedure on a brain vessel at a hospital in Antalya and had been discharged 4 days prior. After undergoing dialysis treatment for a while, Ferdi Tayfur received a kidney transplant from his son in 2020. The artist was transferred from Muğla to Antalya on the evening of December 16, where he was treated and operated on at Medical Park Antalya Hospital. HE HAD SENT A "I'M DOING VERY WELL" MESSAGEOn December 19, Ferdi Tayfur, in front of the cameras he faced for the last time from his hospital bed, responded to his doctor's question, "How are you?" by saying, "Thanks to you, I am well.
