In the Çayeli district of Rize, a chain-reaction crash involving two cars and a minibus resulted in the deaths of three young girls who were trapped inside a burning vehicle and thrown onto the road. Three others were seriously injured, and two more were hurt in the accident. Heartbreaking final footage showed the close friends inside the car shortly before the crash. It was also revealed that Gamze Saklı, one of the deceased, had recently acted in the TV series 'Gözleri Karadeniz'.
Rize's Çayeli district was shaken by a horrific traffic accident that occurred late last night. In a chain collision around 11:00 PM at the Limanköy location on the Black Sea Coastal Road, three young lives were cut short, leaving behind grieving families and heartbreaking details.
LOST CONTROL, CROSSED INTO ONCOMING LANE According to the information obtained, the incident began when the driver, Selinay Saral (22), lost control of the car with license plate 53 ACV 078, traveling from Artvin towards Rize. The out-of-control vehicle first hit a lighting pole on the median, then swerved into the oncoming lane.
The car crossing into the opposite lane violently collided with a vehicle driven by İshak Beyaz (67), with license plate 53 EL 007. Immediately after the crash, Saral's car caught fire, while at that moment, a minibus driven by Sezgin Çelik (37) with license plate 08 ACA 759, passing by, also struck the crashed vehicles.
DIED IN THE FLAMES Following reports from nearby citizens, numerous fire department, AFAD, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. With intense efforts from firefighters, the fire in the vehicle, which had turned into a ball of flames, was extinguished. However, checks by medical teams revealed a painful picture.
Gamze Saklı The driver Selinay Saral and passenger Nilay Bilgin (23), trapped in the vehicle that caught fire after the collision, died by burning at the scene. Gamze Saklı (19), who was in the same car and thrown onto the road by the force of the impact, also lost her life. In the chain collision, 5 people in the other vehicles were also injured. The injured were taken to Rize Training and Research Hospital for treatment.
