Three people died in a fire that broke out in a two-story pastry shop in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It has emerged that before the fire, a report was made that a person had been stabbed and gasoline was poured into the building, and police are investigating the incident on suspicion of murder and arson.
A fire broke out at night at the pastry shop named "Sunrise" located in the Sokei district of Motosu city in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It was stated that although the business was closed at the time of the incident, 11 people had gathered inside the building.
"ONE PERSON WAS STABBED, GASOLINE WAS POURED"
The most striking detail about the incident emerged with the emergency call made. A person inside the building called the police and reported that a person had been stabbed, gasoline had been poured, and then a fire broke out.
Upon the report, police and fire crews were dispatched to the area.
3 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES
The fire was brought under control after approximately three hours of efforts. Following the fire, the lifeless bodies of 2 people were found in the building. A 70-year-old man, one of the 3 people taken to the hospital, also lost his life, raising the death toll to 3.
The two-story structure of approximately 300 square meters was largely damaged in the fire.
POLICE ARE FOCUSING ON SUSPICION OF MURDER AND ARSON
Gifu Prefectural Police are investigating the incident on suspicion of murder and arson. Police are considering the possibility that one of the people inside during the fire may be connected to the incident.
