The fire that started at night in Kırıkhan district of Hatay caused panic in agricultural lands and olive groves. The fire, which broke out over a wide area encompassing Güzelce and Karaçağıl neighborhoods, prompted teams to act upon reports from local residents.
QUICKLY GOT OUT OF CONTROL
According to claims, a stubble fire lit to clear post-harvest residues in the field quickly got out of control. The flames, growing as dry grass and shrubs in the vicinity ignited, spread to olive groves in the area.
Following the report, numerous Hatay Metropolitan Municipality firefighting teams and water tankers along with personnel from the Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the scene.
RACE AGAINST TIME FOR AN HOUR
