In the investigation reopened by a special team regarding the death of Dorukhan Büyükışık, who passed away in İzmir in 2018, the final fugitive suspect in the case, İbrahim K., was apprehended at the Edirne Kapıkule Border Gate and arrested. As a result of operations by gendarmerie teams deepening the investigation, the suspects were referred to the courthouse, bringing the total number of detainees in the case file to 26.
A hot development occurred in the renewed investigation into the death of Dorukhan Büyükışık, who died under suspicious circumstances in 2018 in İzmir's Narlıdere district. The last fugitive suspect of the case, İbrahim K., who had an arrest warrant issued against him, was caught red-handed and arrested at the Edirne Kapıkule Border Gate. With this latest arrest, the number of suspects sent behind bars in the file reached 26.
A 4-PERSON SPECIAL TEAM AT WORK
The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office re-examined the file regarding the death of Dorukhan Büyükışık, whose lifeless body was found on May 13, 2018, at the Bulut Orman Evleri Construction site in Narlıdere district. A 4-person special investigation team, established to deepen the investigation, pressed the button for an operation based on charges of "intentional killing", "destroying, hiding, or altering crime evidence", and "false testimony".
DIGITAL MATERIALS SEIZED
In the first operation carried out on May 21 by the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command Counter-Terrorism Branch Directorate, 21 suspects were detained, and all digital materials belonging to these individuals were seized for examination. As a result of the meticulous work and follow-ups of the gendarmerie teams, the number of detentions rose to 25 with new names captured in the following days. All 25 suspects, who were referred to the courthouse, were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison.
LAST FUGITIVE CAUGHT RED-HANDED AT THE BORDER GATE
The last fugitive suspect, İbrahim K., who was sought within the scope of the file and considered to be preparing to flee abroad, was caught in an operation at the Edirne Kapıkule Border Gate. Brought from Edirne to İzmir and referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the gendarmerie, İbrahim K. was arrested by the duty judge and sent to prison.
With the arrest of İbrahim K., the total number of detainees in the new investigation into the suspicious death of Dorukhan Büyükışık reached 26.
