The first hearing of the murder trial of footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who lost his life in an armed attack in Ümraniye, was held. In the first session of the trial, closely followed by the public, witness Vahap Canbay, who was with the victim at the time of the incident, described the horrific moments in the courtroom in full detail.

COURTROOM INSUFFICIENT, MOVED TO CONFERENCE HALL

The hearing, initially planned to be held at the 27th Heavy Penal Court of the Anatolian Courthouse in Kartal, was moved to the Şehit Hakan Kılıç Conference Hall due to high attendance and insufficient courtroom capacity.

At the hearing, which started around 11:35 AM, detained defendants including Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, Hüseyin Can Avci, Mustafa Rece, Metin Kadayıfçıoğlu, and Ahmet Özkoç, as well as non-detained defendants Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu and Bilal Kadayıfçıoğlu, were present with their lawyers. Another non-detained defendant, İzzet Yıldızhan, connected to the hearing remotely via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBIS).

DESCRIBED THE MOMENT OF THE INCIDENT: HE POINTED THE GUN SAYING 'I WON'T SEE YOU HERE AGAIN'

The most striking moments in the hearing occurred during the testimony of rapper Vahap Canbay, the ex-boyfriend of Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, who was in the car on the day of the incident and personally witnessed the attack. Describing the tension that night and the moments the gun went off, Canbay stated the following in his testimony:

"There was a vague, open-ended breakup conversation. Kubilay stayed over at my place that night. He said to me, 'Bro, let's go, you can make up.' Actually, Kubilay and Yalçın were going to go earlier. On the day of the incident, Yalçın and Kubilay were at my place; we left together. We waited about 2 hours, until the cleaning lady finished. Meanwhile, Yalçınay and Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu talked on the phone in the car. Yalçınay said to me about Zuhal Kalaycıoğlu, 'Everyone will know their place.' My dog 'Moca' was also inside; the dog in the studio was mine."

Stating that the attackers approached the vehicle after the conversations, Canbay recounted the massacre moment as follows:

"A vehicle pulled up next to us. Someone got out and knocked on the window where I was sitting. I opened the door, and he pointed the gun inside, saying, 'I won't see you here again.' I curled into a fetal position to protect myself, and immediately after, the gun went off. I had no contact with the gun. No one could make a sound at that moment; I only remember saying 'Don't' to the other side."

"AT FIRST, I DIDN'T REALIZE HE WAS SHOT, I ONLY HEARD HIS SCREAM"

Describing the chaos after the gunshots, witness Canbay said the following about the final moments of footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı:

"At first, I didn't realize anyone was shot. Kubilay got out of the car himself; he was just shouting. There were screaming sounds around, but my focus was only on Kubilay's scream. My only thought at that moment was Kubilay. He didn't lie down immediately after getting out; he collapsed shortly after. I shouted for help. Nothing came out of my leg or the glove compartment. I have no feud with the defendant Aleyna."

"THE GUN WENT OFF SUDDENLY"

Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, in his defense, said, "Aleyna and I met and became a couple 2-3 weeks before the incident. I gave the car, and that evening we were going to hang out. I thought it wouldn't fit in my personal car. I said I could go with my father's car, Vito. We entered the street where the music studio was. There was a white car. Aleyna panicked when she saw the car. I got out of the car, knocked on the front door with my ring finger, and the person sitting in the passenger seat cursed at me and pulled me inside. I was struggling with one hand. Suddenly, the gun went off, and I didn't know if it was mine or not. When the person pulled me inside, I saw something shiny between his legs. Then we got into the Vito with Mustafa and Aleyna, and I told Aleyna to call Mert. If something happened, they should call an ambulance. I didn't understand what happened, in shock from the incident. Since my father was abroad, I went to my uncle Metin, who is close to him. I went with Aleyna to Uncle Metin's. We went to a mall, then to Aksaray, then to another mall with Engin. The next day, the police picked us up. Aleyna left us after we went to Uncle Metin's. Actually, I went to pick up Aleyna from her mother. I didn't know those people were there when I went. Only Mustafa knows I carry a gun; my gun is always in the glove compartment. He said, 'Let's leave here, it could be dangerous.' My finger wasn't on the trigger during the incident; I didn't point the gun at anyone," he said.

"I SAW ALAATTIN CARRYING A GUN FOR THE FIRST TIME"

Kalaycıoğlu said, "Your Honor, I want to speak in a bit more detail. I had a 1.5-year relationship with Canbay. I wanted to break up, and he agreed. About 1-2 weeks after the breakup, I started seeing Alaattin. That night, I stayed at Alaattin's; then I went to the studio to record and picked up my dog. When I went to the studio, Yalçın Canbay said 'Bad' and left. Then Kubilay called me and said, 'Sis, I want to come to reconcile you,' and I said, 'I don't want you to come.' In a previous conversation, Yalçın said 'Canbay is very upset,' and in the second conversation, he took the phone and said, 'If you have someone in your life, I will kill myself.' I got scared and said, 'There's no one in my life,' to calm him down. Later, while in the car, Yalçın called and said, 'Come back to the studio,' and I said I wouldn't; we went to eat dinner. While eating, I hinted to Alaattin. I also told my mother that Yalçın and Kubilay came to reconcile us, and she said 'Come.' At the moment of the incident, I saw Alaattin carrying a gun for the first time. He got out of the car saying, 'I'll just talk,' and then when the gun went off, I was paralyzed. Later, Alaattin put me in the VIP car. When I got in, I saw the gun in the back seat. I said, 'Alaattin, what have you done?' and he said, 'I don't know what happened.' Then I called Bertin and said, 'Call an ambulance, or I will.' Then I called Bertin again and said, 'Tell me nothing happened,' and he said, 'One person is lying on the ground.' Bertin dropped me off at my mother's, and then the police came. I didn't turn off my phone; I didn't delete anything from my phone," she said.

"WHY DID YOU CALL MY SON A 'RUNNER'"

After the defense, Kubilay's mother asked Aleyna, "How long have you known my son?" Kalaycıoğlu replied, "1.5 years." Mother Ülker Kundakçı asked, "Why did you call my son a 'runner'?" Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu responded, "He was helping without any financial reason." Father Cemil Kundakçı asked Kalaycıoğlu, "Why didn't you ask about Kubilay?" Kalaycıoğlu replied, "I found out Kubilay was dead when I got home."
