Okan Karacan, who was detained and later released under judicial control as part of the investigation into GAİN Media, spoke for the first time. In his statement, Karacan said, "Being called to the Gendarmerie Command does not mean I was detained; it was solely for the purpose of giving a statement. In the end, there were no negative outcomes, and I thank them for their professionalism and respect."
As part of the 'money laundering' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was carried out against GAİN Media. Server Okan Karacan was also detained within the scope of the investigation.
While Berkin Kaya, Barbaros Reşat Gülcan, and Selahattin Aydın, who were detained as part of the investigation, were arrested; Karacan was released under judicial control.
Okan Karacan shared his first statement on social media after the detention process. In his post regarding the matter, Karacan expressed the following:
"I SINCERELY THANK EVERYONE" "My summons to the Gendarmerie Command is not a detention situation; it was entirely for the purpose of giving a statement. At the end of this process, there was no negative situation, and I am grateful for the professionalism and respect they showed. I thank the Gendarmerie organization for their understanding, moral, and humanitarian approach in line with human rights and human values. I express my gratitude to all the authorities who meticulously fulfilled their duties during this process and to everyone who contributed to the work.
First of all, my friends and family who were by my side throughout this process; the support you gave me made me very strong. It is hard to express how grateful I am to you in words. Thanks to what has happened, I will continue on my path in a stronger and more correct way. I am so glad you exist, my beautiful family. I believe that together we will reach higher goals over time.
