An operation was carried out targeting individuals who disappeared after introducing men wishing to marry to foreign women through a catalog in two provinces centered around the Çivril district of Denizli, in exchange for amounts ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 dollars, and then taking the gold given at the wedding. Five suspects who were detained were released under judicial control.
In the Çivril district of Denizli, 5 people were detained in an operation against a gang that defrauded men seeking to get married, but they were released under judicial control. It was determined that the suspects introduced foreign women to men through a catalog and stole gold at weddings.
THEY DECEIVED MEN BY SHOWING WOMEN FROM A CATALOG AND PROMISING MARRIAGE
Following reports of fraud cases involving marriage promises, the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) of the Denizli Gendarmerie Command initiated an investigation in the Çivril district. JASAT identified that the fraudsters showed catalogs containing photos of foreign women to men wanting to marry and connected them with the women they liked.
THEY COLLECTED UP TO 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS PER PERSON
As a result of the meetings, it was determined that the fraudsters received between 5,000 and 10,000 dollars from men wanting to marry the foreign women they liked from the catalog, depending on the negotiations. In JASAT's investigation, it was found that the foreign women took the gold and money given during the marriage and wedding ceremonies and disappeared. It was established that the men were defrauded by both the fraudsters and the women they married.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS IN 2 PROVINCES
JASAT, in coordination with the Çivril Gendarmerie Command teams, carried out simultaneous operations in Denizli and Sinop against individuals committing fraud using this method. A total of 5 suspects were detained at 4 different addresses. All suspects were released under judicial control after being brought to the court following their procedures at the gendarmerie.
