EYEWITNESS POINTED OUT FAULTY OVERTAKING
Avcı claimed that the bus traveling from Izmir to Gaziantep was speeding, saying, "I knew something like this would happen because the driver was going fast. The tire had burst on the road, we were delayed for half an hour, and he was trying to go a bit fast to make up for that. I didn't see it clearly, but there was a car on the left side, and when he couldn't overtake it, he tried to pass on the right, and since there was a truck on the right, he hit it." Avcı noted that there was panic in the bus after the collision with the truck.
"THERE WAS SOMETHING ODD ABOUT THE DRIVER DRIVING THE BUS"
Avcı, who mentioned that he considered getting off the bus during the journey, recorded the following:
"I was sitting in seat number 13 behind the driver. There was something odd about the driver driving the bus. I even thought about getting off in Osmaniye and taking a minibus to Gaziantep, but then I changed my mind. After the accident, ambulances arrived. We managed to get out of the bus by our own efforts."
