As concerns continue over bear attacks that have resulted in a record 13 deaths this year in Japan, the latest data released by the government has once again highlighted the extent of the danger. According to data from Japan's Ministry of the Environment, the number of people attacked by bears reached a record 230 between April and November this year.

Thus, the record of 219 bear attacks for the fiscal year 2023, covering the period from April 2023 to March 2024, has already been broken. It was noted that the highest number of bear attacks, 66, was recorded in Akita Prefecture, followed by 37 in Iwate and 24 in Fukushima Prefectures.

A TOTAL OF 13 PEOPLE HAVE DIED
