Flag change at the Turkish Maarif Foundation: Mahmut Özdil has taken over the position.

The president of the Turkey Maarif Foundation has changed. Following the appointment of Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, who has been serving as the president of the Foundation since its establishment in 2016, to the Azerbaijani Embassy, the new president is Mahmut Mustafa Özdil, who is a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

At the handing over ceremony held at the Foundation's headquarters, members of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of the Turkey Maarif Foundation, department heads, and employees attended. During the ceremony, Mahmut M. Özdil, who was newly elected as the President of the Turkey Maarif Foundation, presented flowers to Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün in gratitude for his services. Akgün also gifted a special ring symbolizing the Maarif seal to the new president Özdil.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Akgün stated that they made great efforts to manage the Foundation's affairs during his presidency, saying, "This great institution has significantly developed its corporate governance understanding." Akgün thanked all employees and wished success to the new President Mahmut M. Özdil and the new members of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of the Foundation.

After the ceremony, the new President Mahmut M. Özdil expressed his gratitude to Birol Akgün, stating, "We have worked together for eight and a half years. I thank Birol for his support. From now on, we will do our best to advance the Foundation with the same determination and enthusiasm." Akgün was applauded as he bid farewell and left the Turkey Maarif Foundation.

WHO IS MAHMUT M. ÖZDİL?

Mahmut M. Özdil, born in 1975, graduated from Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2000. He completed a master's degree in public law at the same university. Özdil has conducted academic studies in administrative law and administrative litigation law, teaching courses in this field and providing legal consultancy. Since the establishment of the Turkey Maarif Foundation, Özdil has held the positions of member of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees, and he is married with one child.
