Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who lost the presidential election in Brazil and is under investigation for corruption and money laundering, went to Miami in the United States with his family. After US President Donald Trump allowed him to enter the country, Bolsonaro, who reached Florida, argued that he did not flee Brazil and announced that he would continue his political struggle from the US.

Flavio Bolsonaro, who lost the election, left Brazil and went to the US while investigations against him continued. Bolsonaro, who reached Miami, thanked Trump and announced that he would lead the opposition from the US.

HE LANDED IN MIAMI WITH HIS FAMILY

Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, who was defeated by Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the presidential elections held in Brazil on October 25, reached the US after leaving his country. According to reports in the US press, the private plane carrying Bolsonaro landed at a private airport in Miami at around 09:30 local time. Bolsonaro's wife Fernanda Antunes Figueira Bolsonaro and their daughters Carolina Figueira Bolsonaro and Luiza Figueira Bolsonaro were also on board. Footage of the Bolsonaro family's arrival at the airport was also covered by the media.

TRUMP GRANTED THE BOLSONARO FAMILY PERMISSION TO ENTER THE US

Bolsonaro's arrival in Miami took place after the US administration granted the family permission to enter the country. The US State Department had announced a day earlier that visas would be issued to Bolsonaro and his family so they could enter the country. Following this announcement, the senator's customs and visa procedures were carried out. US President Donald Trump also announced that he had allowed the Bolsonaro family to enter the country, stating that he viewed the election results in Brazil with suspicion.

"I DID NOT FLEE FROM BRAZIL"

After reaching Miami, Bolsonaro, addressing the Brazilian people and the international community, defended his decision to leave his country. Bolsonaro, who began his statement by describing himself as 'the true elected president of Brazil,' thanked Trump. Bolsonaro, claiming that there was a politically motivated process against him, used the following statements: 'I want to thank President Trump and the wonderful American people for accepting me. On Sunday night, I watched in horror the election fraud taking place before my eyes. I had no intention of leaving my country, but I know very well where the process is heading. What is at issue here is a witch hunt carried out through a political initiative aimed at holding me hostage. I brought my family to the US in the face of the politicization of the judicial system in Brazil. I did not flee Brazil; I left for the good of Brazil. In order to be the leader my people deserve, I moved away from an environment where state of emergency conditions prevail. I call on the international community: do not allow what is happening in Brazil to become normalized. I will lead the opposition from here.'

HE LEFT THE COUNTRY DESPITE A BAN ON TRAVELING ABROAD

Within the scope of ongoing investigations into Bolsonaro, a decision had been made to confiscate his passport. However, the senator left Brazil on a secret plane before the decision was implemented. Reports were published that Bolsonaro first went to Argentina on Tuesday evening and then to Ecuador. Brazilian President Lula da Silva described Bolsonaro's leaving his country despite the travel ban as "shameful."

CLAIMS OF TWO SEPARATE INVESTIGATIONS AGAINST HIM

According to the Brazilian press, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) is investigating allegations regarding the illegal financing of the biographical film "Dark Horse," which is about his father's life. It was stated that Bolsonaro is also a suspect in another money laundering investigation, in which he is alleged to be connected to his close friend and lawyer Willer Tomaz.
