'I STARTED CRYING, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO'

Anna Cosar (22), who lives in the apartment building opposite the attacked building and lost her friend in the incident, said, "I didn't learn about the incident from the news, but by feeling it myself. When the attack happened, everything was shaking. I was in the bathroom. I started crying, I didn't know what to do. In those first seconds of the attack, I thought something had hit our building too. I thought we were dying. Later, when the first tremor passed, I realized it had fallen somewhere close. I came out of the bathroom and talked to my family. We saw people trapped under the rubble. We said we should go and help. But usually, there are always two strikes at one point. My family didn't allow me to go out, thinking there would be a second attack. It was truly a horrible experience. And unfortunately, the dozens of people who died here were people we greeted and interacted with face to face when we went outside. One of the deceased was studying at our university. Actually, when such things happen, I feel like I've lost someone very close to me. Because even if I don't know them personally, you think, 'That could have been me instead.' They share the same age as you, the same air, the same street. And the next day, they don't wake up," she said.

'I CHECKED IF EVERYONE WAS OK'

Kyrylo Bublikov (23), stating that he came to the area after the attack, said, "When I got here, everything was already over. At first, I wasn't scared; adrenaline was rushing through my body, so I went up to the first floor and checked if everyone was okay. I tried to help the police, the police were already there, along with emergency teams and medical personnel. There were rescuers trying to save the people under this building, the collapsed building. There was a lot of fire, a lot of panicked people around, so I just tried to find rational people, who knew what to do in this situation? I just tried to help," he expressed.
