New footage has been shared regarding the police intervention at the CHP Headquarters. The video, published on Özgür Özel's account, shows moments when police broke the chains and iron door at the parking lot entrance to enter the building. In the footage, party members wearing gas masks to protect themselves from tear gas drew attention, while Özgür Özel was heard saying "Women first" as his office floor was being evacuated. Employees were seen chanting the slogan "All together or not at all."
New footage recorded at the CHP Headquarters during yesterday's police intervention was shared from the X account named "Özgür Özel İletişim" belonging to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
"WOMEN FIRST" REMARKS DREW ATTENTION
The shared video included the statements: "Images of our elected Chairman Özgür Özel's office on the 12th floor, seconds before its evacuation… 'Women first…'".
POLICE INTERVENTION CAPTURED ON VIDEO
The footage showed the moments when police entered the CHP Headquarters by breaking the chains and iron gate at the parking lot, as well as the incidents during the pepper spray intervention.
"ALL TOGETHER OR NONE AT ALL"
While some party members were seen wearing gas masks to avoid being affected by the pepper spray, Özgür Özel was heard asking for female employees to be taken down by elevator first as his office floor was being evacuated. At that moment, employees were seen chanting the slogan "All together or none at all."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Police teams entered the party building to serve the decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice regarding the CHP congress case and to ensure the evacuation of the CHP Headquarters.
After the Ankara Governor's Office instructed the Ankara Police Department to proceed with the evacuation of the CHP Headquarters in accordance with the court decision, police teams began efforts to negotiate with party members.
Police teams, who met with CHP Deputy Murat Emir and those with him in the headquarters garden, began preparations to enter the headquarters building after waiting for a while.
Party members in the headquarters garden threw water and glass bottles at the teams, who broke down the iron garden gate to enter. Police teams intervened with pepper spray against the party members in the garden and the building and entered the headquarters.
After the evacuation of the CHP Headquarters, Özel, who left the headquarters, headed towards the Parliament accompanied by some deputies and party members.
