After nearly 700 people were poisoned by chicken döner in Kocaeli, it was discovered that a döner shop in Adana was adding raw chicken on top of cooked chicken. The teams that took action imposed an administrative fine of 42,076 TL on the region's famous late-night döner shop.
648 people were poisoned by the chicken döner they ate in the Körfez district of Kocaeli. Nevertheless, at the phenomenon night döner shop located on Gülbey Karataş Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of the central Yüreğir district, cooked chicken was found on top of raw chicken.
MINISTRY IMPOSED A FINE
A citizen photographed these moments and shared them on social media. Following this, the teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry took action. The teams imposed an administrative fine of 42,076 TL on the phenomenon night döner shop for not complying with hygiene rules.
"PRODUCES BACTERIA"
Dr. Fatih Necip Arıcı, a specialist in Internal Medicine at Adana City Training and Research Hospital, stated that placing raw chicken on top of cooked chicken is one of the main causes of poisoning. Arıcı noted, "We refer to such situations as mass poisoning. Since raw chicken is placed on top of cooked chicken and the cold chain of these chickens is broken, leading to bacteria production, infections become inevitable."
