Former Minister of State Burhan Kara passed away at the age of 77 due to a heart attack at his home in Ankara. Kara, who served as a Giresun deputy for five terms, also held the position of Minister of State during the 55th Government.

Burhan Kara, 77, who had been residing in Ankara for some time, lost his life as a result of a heart attack in the evening hours. The news of Kara's death caused great sorrow in Giresun and the political community.
WHO IS BURHAN KARA?
Born in 1949 in the Görele district of Giresun, Burhan Kara completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Giresun. Graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine with the title of medical doctor, Kara worked as a private physician for many years before entering politics. Starting his political career under the Motherland Party (ANAP), Burhan Kara was elected as a Giresun Deputy for five terms in the 1983, 1987, 1991, 1995, and 1999 general elections. During his years serving in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Kara also held the position of Administrative Officer of the TBMM Presidency Council.
Burhan Kara served as a State Minister in the cabinet during the 55th Government, which was in office between 1997 and 1999. During his ministry, he was particularly remembered for his work on investment, development, and infrastructure projects in Giresun. Married with two children, Kara left ANAP in 2001 and joined the True Path Party (DYP).
