Mustafa Şamil Ekinci, one of the former presidents of Trabzonspor, who passed away at the age of 83, was buried in Zincirlikuyu Cemetery after the funeral prayer held at Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque.

The funeral prayer of Mustafa Şamil Ekinci, one of the former presidents of Trabzonspor who passed away at the age of 83 in recent days, was performed at Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque.

HE WAS BID FAREWELL TO HIS LAST JOURNEY

Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, President of the Turkish Football Federation and former presidents of Trabzonspor İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, Sadri Şener, Muharrem Usta, President of İstanbulspor Ecmel Faik Sarıalioğlu, Ekinci's relatives and loved ones attended the funeral ceremony. After the funeral prayer, Ekinci's body was buried in the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery Family Graveyard.

Starting his words by saying that they are very sad as a community, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan said, "He is one of the pioneers who created the Trabzonspor legend. His place will never be filled. I offer my condolences to his family. May Allah give them patience. May the whole Trabzonspor community be well. He was a very important figure for us. He was very important in terms of the birth of the Trabzon legend and the collapse of the Istanbul reign. We are very sad. Mehmet Ali Bey was the same. May Allah rest their souls. These are important values that constitute the Trabzonspor legend. We lost both of them this year. We are really sad. Their places cannot be filled, but it is very valuable for them to know the value of the legend they created. Everyone has a duty to continue the Trabzonspor legend. In these days, we see that we really have no friends other than ourselves. Regardless of the subject, Trabzonspor people should be together and act together. This consciousness should settle in the community very quickly."

Muharrem Usta, the former president of Trabzonspor, said that they are sad because they lost a legendary president. "As everyone knows, Şamil president is our real legendary president. In a very difficult period, under very difficult conditions, and even though he was not from Trabzon, he had such a presidency period. You have risen to the league as an Anatolian team and become champions four times in a row. It is an incredible success that fits into that short period. When we look at it as a young generation, it is impossible not to appreciate it. It is a great value that young people should know and remember. We are grateful for everything. May he rest in peace."
