The Global Gaza March Movement announced that 40 activists from various countries who arrived in Egypt to join the Maghreb Resistance Convoy walking to Gaza to break the Israeli blockade have been detained.

40 ACTIVISTS DETAINED IN EGYPT



In a statement indicating that 40 activists from France, Spain, Canada, the UK, and Turkey were detained as they were leaving the capital Cairo, it was stated, "The passports of 40 individuals participating in the Global Gaza March were taken at a checkpoint on the way out of Cairo. 15 are being held in hotels."

CALL TO EMBASSIES



It was conveyed that the Global Gaza March is a peaceful movement and that those coming to participate are complying with Egyptian laws. The statement also called on the embassies of the countries of the detained activists to take action for the release of their citizens in Cairo.

ACTIVISTS AIM TO MEET AT RAFAH BORDER CROSSING



The Maghreb Resistance Convoy, consisting of approximately 2,000 activists from Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania, had set out from Tunisia and reached the city of Sirte in Libya. Additionally, activists from all over the world had begun to gather in Cairo, Egypt, to join the convoy.

Activists who set out to break the blockade in Gaza aim to reach the Rafah Border Crossing on June 15.
