In the Atakum district of Samsun, when a person who entered the sea to cool off was not heard from for a long time, their relatives alerted the authorities. Upon the report, the Coast Guard, lifeguards, and police teams launched a search operation both from the sea and the air. The swimmer, who caused great panic, was found lying on their back in the sea after a while. It was understood that the person was not missing, but had simply gotten tired from swimming offshore and was resting on the water's surface.
When no news was received from Mümtaz Ö., who entered the sea to cool off on the coast of Samsun's Atakum district, his relatives notified the 112 Emergency Call Center.
TEAMS WENT ON ALERT BOTH FROM THE SEA AND THE AIR
Upon the notification, police, health teams, Metropolitan Municipality lifeguards, and Coast Guard Black Sea Regional Command teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams initiated search efforts both from the sea and the air.

Mümtaz Ö. was found after a while floating on his back on the water surface. It was learned that Mümtaz Ö. was not lost, but had gotten tired while swimming offshore and was resting on his back. Mümtaz Ö. was taken onto a boat and brought to shore.
