In Arnavutköy, Istanbul, Davut Gökkaya, who had a restraining order against him, raided the home of his ex-wife, Türkan Gökkaya. Firing a pump-action shotgun at his ex-wife and their 18-year-old son, he then used the same weapon to take his own life. Responding to a report, teams arriving at the scene confirmed that all three had died. It was learned that the ex-couple's second child, who was in the house during the incident, survived the massacre unscathed by hiding behind a sofa.
In the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul, Davut Gökkaya, who had a restraining order against him, came to the house of his ex-wife Türkan Gökkaya in the Boğazköy neighborhood.
HE POINTED THE GUN FIRST AT HIS EX-WIFE AND CHILD, THEN AT HIMSELF
The individual, with a pump-action shotgun he brought with him, first fired at his ex-wife Türkan Gökkaya and then at his 18-year-old son Emin Gökkaya, before turning the same gun on himself.
Upon hearing the gunshots, nearby citizens notified the 112 Emergency Service. Following the report, police and medical teams were dispatched. Examination revealed that the mother, her son, and the individual had died.
THE SECOND CHILD SURVIVED BY HIDING BEHIND THE SOFA
Meanwhile, it was learned that the couple's second child, A.G., who was also at home during the incident, survived by hiding behind the sofa.
Police teams are continuing their investigation at the scene.
