In operations against qualified fraud organized by the Ministry of Interior in 17 provinces, 503 suspects were caught. It was determined that the suspects defrauded citizens of approximately 985.5 million Turkish Lira; 261 of them were arrested, while judicial control measures were imposed on 242 individuals. In MASAK investigations, it was found that the suspects' accounts had a transaction volume of 1 billion 135 million Turkish Lira.
The Ministry of Interior announced that 503 suspects have been caught in operations targeting qualified fraud networks in 17 provinces. It was determined that the suspects defrauded citizens of a total of 985 million 507 thousand TL, and 261 people have been arrested.
503 SUSPECTS CAUGHT
Within the scope of studies conducted under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Public Order Department and Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, simultaneous operations were organized in 17 provinces. Of the 503 suspects caught in the operations, 261 were arrested, while judicial control measures were imposed on 242 individuals.
FRAUD OF 985 MILLION LIRA
According to the Ministry of Interior's statement, it was determined that the suspects defrauded citizens of a total of 985 million 507 thousand TL. In examinations carried out in line with reports from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), it was found that the suspects' bank accounts had a transaction volume of 1 billion 135 million TL.
DEFRAUDED USING DIFFERENT METHODS
In the ongoing investigation, it was determined that the suspects;
- Posed as public officials,
- Had high-value contracts signed at beauty centers,
- Promised job opportunities,
- Posed as bank employees,
- Posted vehicle rental ads on fake websites, and defrauded citizens using these methods.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
While an investigation has been initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices regarding the caught suspects, the Ministry of Interior emphasized that the fight against criminal organizations and fraud networks will continue decisively.
