Raheem Sterling, who once celebrated Premier League titles and was one of the stars of the England national team, is now on the path to prison. After an accident involving his £270,000 Lamborghini, the 31-year-old footballer faces three separate charges and will appear before a judge on September 15.
Raheem Sterling, once regarded among the Premier League's most important stars, is back in the news this time not for his performance on the pitch but for the charges against him. The 31-year-old former England international has been charged with dangerous driving, possessing nitrous oxide, and refusing to provide a specimen following a crash in his £270,000 Lamborghini.

According to The Sun, the incident occurred on May 28, 2026, near the Minley Interchange on the M3 motorway in Hampshire.
Drivers traveling on the road in the morning called 999 after seeing a black luxury 4x4 skidding on the road. Police teams arrived at the scene, and Sterling was taken into custody.
No other vehicle was involved in the crash, and no injuries were reported.
FACING THREE SEPARATE CHARGES
Sterling has been charged with dangerous driving, possessing nitrous oxide intended for inhalation, and refusing to provide a specimen.
Nitrous oxide, known as "laughing gas" in England, was reclassified as a Class C controlled substance in 2023.

The transformation in Sterling's career is striking. The footballer, who came through Liverpool's academy, experienced the most successful period of his career after transferring to Manchester City in 2015.
Sterling, who won 4 Premier League titles, 5 League Cups, and 1 FA Cup with Manchester City, also earned 82 caps for the England national team.
However, his career decline began after his £50 million transfer from Manchester City to Chelsea in 2022. After his time at Chelsea, Sterling was loaned to Arsenal and most recently played for Feyenoord. With his contract at the Dutch club having ended, he is currently without a club.
TO APPEAR BEFORE A JUDGE ON SEPTEMBER 15
It has been announced that Sterling will appear before a judge at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on September 15.
It is stated that he could face up to two years in prison if convicted of dangerous driving. However, Sterling has not been convicted at this stage; the charges against him have not yet been decided by the court.
