In the 'Corruption' case against IBB, 414 defendants, 53 of whom are in custody, including Ekrem Imamoglu, who was suspended from duty, appeared before the judge at the 70th hearing.
'JOKE' DEFENSE FROM FORMER CHP MP
At the hearing, the non-custodial defendant and former CHP Istanbul MP Turan Aydogan gave a defense, interestingly defending his words in the audio recordings, 'Can there be a document for a bribe?' Aydogan called this statement a 'joke.'
Aydogan said the following: 'Under that much bail pressure, I made a joke there. Are you asking for a document for a bribe? Like, is there a document for a bribe, or something. Otherwise, the man himself is saying it's not a bribe. Why would I call something a bribe if the man doesn't call it that? Can such a thing be? Whether it happened or not, whether that recording is an edit or not, I don't know. As far as I understand, that's your starting point anyway. But that could be a joke. In the sense of, is there a document for a bribe? It might have been said in that sense.'
