With the publication of the 11th Judicial Package in the Official Gazette, significant changes have been made to traffic rules. Now, individuals who get out of their vehicle during a dispute in traffic to stop another vehicle and prevent it from moving will be punished with imprisonment of two to five years.

A new legal regulation regarding disputes and fights in traffic has come into effect.

According to the regulation implemented by the Law on Amendments to the Turkish Penal Code and Certain Laws, known to the public as the 11th Judicial Package, those who get out of their vehicle to stop another vehicle or prevent it from moving during disputes in traffic will face imprisonment.

UP TO 5 YEARS OF IMPRISONMENT

In the regulation, it was stated that for this penalty, "A person who unlawfully prevents a land vehicle from moving or stops it while it is in motion shall be punished with imprisonment from one year to three years, and a person who takes this vehicle from its place of travel to another place shall be punished with imprisonment from two years to five years."
