Anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci gave her statement at the Istanbul Courthouse on December 17 as part of the drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Following her statement, she was arrested by the decision of the Duty Magistrate Court.
EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT ELA RÜMEYSA
After Cebeci's arrest, many claims regarding the anchor's private life emerged on social media. The issue was also discussed in some television programs. In light of the developments, Nevşin Mengü conveyed the details of her phone conversation with Ela Rümeysa Cebeci's sister in her own broadcast.
"SHE WAS SHOCKED WHEN THEY SAID SHE BECAME A INFORMANT"
Nevşin Mengü stated that Cebeci reacted to some of the media reports, saying, "99% of what is talked about in the media is not true. She is particularly upset with the press. Ela Rümeysa only has a professional relationship with Mehmet Akif Ersoy. The party video that has been circulated has nothing to do with Ela. It did not come from her phone, and she did not go to such a place."
Mengü shared that Cebeci's sister gave examples through certain names, stating, "When Şamil Tayyar said, 'She became an informant, she is with the prosecutor,' I was in Silivri, and Ela was meeting with her lawyer. I was shocked." Mengü also conveyed that Cebeci questioned "why this information was given without verification" and thought she was subjected to "double standards because she is a woman."

Mengü continued her speech by stating that Cebeci reacted to some comments, saying, "She is very upset with İsmail Saymaz. She said about Ela's test, 'She has not even drunk a cologne,' but regarding Sadettin Saran, she said, 'It is a matter for his family, it is private.'"
Mengü also relayed, "She said she was upset with Özlem Gürses. She says we were very saddened by the 'sexpionage' comment." Regarding the family's stance, she stated, "As a family, we are behind Ela. My parents are conservative, but they trust Ela Rümeysa."
