The rising Brent crude oil prices due to conflicts in the Middle East are reflected as an increase in fuel prices. A new price hike is coming for fuel that was increased yesterday, effective March 7. Rising Brent crude oil prices, influenced by escalating conflicts in the Middle East, continue to reflect as increases in fuel prices. Following the rise in oil markets, new price hikes for gasoline and diesel have been announced.
THERE IS ANOTHER INCREASE IN GASOLINE AND DIESEL
With the regulation effective from March 7, the price of gasoline will increase by 55 kuruş per liter, while the price of diesel will rise by 1 lira 14 kuruş per liter. The majority of the increase will be covered by the special consumption tax (ÖTV) under the escalator mobile system, while the remaining part will be reflected in pump prices.
DIESEL IS APPROACHING 70 LIRA
After the increase, especially in eastern provinces, the price of diesel will exceed 67.5 TL per liter, approaching the 70 TL limit.
THE STATE WILL COVER A LARGE PART OF THE INCREASE
In the last increase in fuel prices, a significant portion of the rise will be covered by the state under the escalator mobile system. According to the system, a large part of the price increase is borne by the Treasury through a waiver of ÖTV.
In normal conditions, the expected increase in gasoline, which is anticipated to be 2 lira 18 kuruş, will have a portion of 1 lira 63 kuruş covered by ÖTV. Therefore, only the 55 kuruş part of the increase will be reflected in pump prices.
For diesel, a total price increase of 4 lira 55 kuruş is anticipated, of which 3 lira 41 kuruş will be covered by ÖTV. Thus, the net increase that will be reflected in the pump price for citizens will be 1 lira 14 kuruş.
