Galatasaray, which sent 6 players to the National Team that bid farewell to the World Cup, will grant these players an additional 2 weeks of leave. The national players will join the red-yellow team's training in mid-July.
After our National Football Team competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup made an early exit from the tournament, Galatasaray's technical team made a new plan for their local players. The national team, which was eliminated after two matches and will play a prestige match against the USA on June 26, will go on vacation once the organization is completed.
EXTRA LEAVE FOR 6 PLAYERS
In the yellow-red team, Uğurcan Çakır, Eren Elmalı, Yunus Akgün, Kaan Ayhan, Barış Alper Yılmaz, and Abdülkerim Bardakcı competed in the World Cup with the National Team. Considering the fatigue of these players, who joined the national team camp without resting right after the championship celebrations, head coach Okan Buruk made a gesture to his students by extending their vacation.
THEIR RETURN WILL BE IN MID-JULY
Galatasaray will open its doors on July 7 for new season preparations. However, due to the extra approximately two-week leave granted to these 6 national players who emerged from a heavy match schedule, they will join the team in mid-July.
