In the Alaşehir district of Manisa, 27-year-old Süleyman Sarıefe, who was severely injured after diving from cliffs into the sea in Muğla's Fethiye district during his honeymoon following his marriage, lost his 12-day battle for life in the hospital. The death of the newlywed groom plunged his family and his new wife into mourning.
HAPPINESS WAS SHORT-LIVED
According to information obtained, Süleyman Sarıefe (27), who married Ezgi Sarıefe on June 6 in the Alaşehir district, went to Muğla's Fethiye district for his honeymoon right after the wedding. On only the third day of their vacation, the young groom jumped into the sea from a high point, landed headfirst, and was severely injured.
Following reports from nearby citizens, health teams arrived at the scene and provided initial treatment. Sarıefe was taken to Muğla University Faculty of Medicine Hospital and immediately underwent surgery. The unfortunate young man, who fought for life in intensive care for 12 days, died yesterday despite all the doctors' efforts. The sad news of Sarıefe, who was reportedly working at a private company in Turgutlu, brought his family and loved ones to tears.
BURIED IN TEARS
The body of Süleyman Sarıefe, who passed away in the prime of his life, was brought to his hometown of Alaşehir in Manisa. The funeral prayer, held after the noon prayer at Kütük Minare Mosque, was attended by his father Mehmet Sarıefe, his mother Gülay Gülmez, his grieving wife Ezgi Sarıefe, relatives, and many citizens.
At the funeral, relatives tried to console the grieving family, who struggled to stand and were overcome with tears. After the prayer, the young groom's body was laid to rest with prayers at Alaşehir New Cemetery.
