Simultaneous operations were conducted by the Gendarmerie in 8 provinces targeting caves and shelters abandoned by the PKK terrorist organization. During the operations, 34 caves and shelters were destroyed, and a large number of weapons and ammunition were seized.

In comprehensive search and scanning activities carried out simultaneously in 8 provinces by security forces, 34 caves and shelters were destroyed.

NUMEROUS AMMUNITIONS DESTROYED

In a post on the Gendarmerie General Command's social media account, it was stated: "In order to clear the terrain in areas cleared of terrorism, to make living spaces used in past periods safe, to prevent incidents that may occur with weapons, ammunition, explosives, and similar materials stored or left uncontrolled in shelters, caves, and terrain, and to ensure a security environment in our terror-free Turkey where our people carry out their daily lives in peace and security, with the support of gendarmerie UAVs and ATAK helicopters, during search and scanning activities carried out in Bingöl, Bitlis, Diyarbakır, Hakkari, Siirt, Şanlıurfa, Şırnak, and Van by our Gendarmerie Special Operations (JÖH) and gendarmerie commando units and security guards, 2 rocket launchers, 72 long-barreled weapons, 1 pistol, 14 hand grenades, 12 mines and improvised explosive devices, 1,189 heavy weapon ammunition, 2,100 electric fuses, 4 radios, 3 generators, 14,040 pieces of various sizes and calibers of ammunition, and 197 kilograms of chemical substances were seized. 34 caves, shelters, and living areas were destroyed."
