FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON
The race, held at the 4.3-kilometer Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit in Montreal, was conducted over 70 laps. Russell, who started from pole position, completed the race in 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 52.688 seconds, achieving his first victory of the season.
British Lando Norris from McLaren crashed into the wall while trying to overtake his teammate Oscar Piastri with 3 laps to go, retiring from the race. Following Norris's crash, the race ended under the safety car. Dutch driver Max Verstappen (Red Bull) finished second, 0.228 seconds behind the leader, while Italian Kimi Antonelli came in third, 1.014 seconds behind his teammate Russell. The 11th race of the season, the Austrian Grand Prix, will take place on June 29.
