In the Serik district of Antalya, 17-year-old Şükran Ela Özseven, a high school senior, lost her life after being hit by a car while trying to cross the road on her way back from her graduation photo shoot.
In the Serik district of Antalya, two high school students returning home from their graduation photo shoot were hit by a car. One of the students died in the accident, while the other was seriously injured.
The accident occurred yesterday around 8:00 PM on the Antalya-Alanya Highway. 12th-grade students of Serik Atatürk Anatolian High School went to the city center in a group with service vehicles coordinated by the school administration to take their graduation photos. On their way back, Şükran Ela Özseven (17) and Nadya Başbüyük (17) reportedly got off the service at the Yukarıkocayatak intersection. As Özseven and Başbüyük attempted to cross the road, they were struck by a car driven by O.D.
TWO YOUNG GIRLS THROWN ONTO THE ROAD Due to the force of the accident, Şükran Ela Özseven was thrown against a traffic sign on the roadside. Nadya Başbüyük was thrown onto the road. Upon notification from bystanders, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident.
ELA DIED AT THE SCENE Medical teams determined that Özseven had lost her life upon examination. Başbüyük, who was seriously injured, was taken to Serik State Hospital by ambulance. After an investigation at the accident site, Özseven's lifeless body was taken to the morgue for autopsy.
NADYA IS FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE It has been reported that Başbüyük, who is undergoing treatment, is still in critical condition. Police have detained the driver O.D. and are continuing their investigation into the accident.
