The students, who evoked pride with their achievements, shared their preparation process and goals.
According to the 2026 LGS results announced today by the Ministry of National Education, 1 million 22 thousand 658 students applied for the exam this year. The exam was held in 81 provinces, 920 districts, 4,244 schools, and 64,697 halls, as well as in 11 exam centers across 8 countries abroad.
THREE STUDENTS FROM THE SAME SCHOOL SCORED A PERFECT 500
IBB Akşemsettin Secondary School in Başakşehir, which has consistently produced top scores in the LGS for years, maintained the tradition this year. Three students from the school—Musab Erol, Gökçe Ağar, and Ahmed Sami Güneş—answered all questions correctly, achieving a perfect score of 500 and placing among the top in Turkey. Two of the top scorers, Musab Erol and Gökçe Ağar, shared their preparation processes.
"I STUDIED AT THE LIBRARY UNTIL 11:00 PM"
Musab Erol, one of the top scorers, noted that the preparation process was not easy, saying, "At first, it was very challenging for me. Around the midpoint, it got even harder, but I didn't give up; I studied harder. I was very excited on the morning the results were announced. I waited for the results for two hours after 7:00 am. When I saw the result, all my stress disappeared. I studied almost every day since the summer break. I studied at school, at a tutoring center, and at the library until 11:00 pm. My family supported me a lot. In the future, I want to study software engineering at Yıldız Technical University. My biggest advice to friends taking this exam is consistency. When motivation drops, success becomes harder," he said.
"I SPENT THE SUMMER BREAK LEARNING THE TOPICS"
Gökçe Ağar, another student with a perfect score of 500, stated that she began preparations at the end of 7th grade, saying, "I spent the summer break learning the topics. In 8th grade, I continued studying regularly. I was very excited on the morning the results were announced. To calm my nerves, I watched Turkey's volleyball match. The last 10 minutes felt endless for me. I was very stressed. When I saw the result, I cried with my mom. I felt a huge relief. I want to do great things in the future, but I haven't decided on a career yet. My advice to friends taking the exam is to never lose their motivation. There will be tough times, but they shouldn't give up," she said.
School administrators and teachers expressed great joy over the students' success, and it was notable that IBB Akşemsettin Secondary School continued its tradition of success in the LGS this year as well.
