The calls made on the phone of singer Gullu's daughter, Tugyan Ulkem Gülter, who was arrested over her death after falling from the window of her 6th-floor home in Yalova, were shocking. It was determined that Gülter made internet searches such as 'When does drugs wash out of hair?', 'When does cocaine show up in hair?' and 'Does methamphetamine show up in hair?' Additionally, it was found that Gülter had researched a box game called 'serial killer case, find the culprit' on the internet.
The investigation into the death of singer Gullu (52), who fell from the window of her 6th-floor home in Yalova, has been completed. In the indictment, the singer's daughter Tugyan Ulkem Gülter (28) is named as the primary suspect, and her friend Sultan Nur Ulu (25) as the second suspect. It was recorded that Gülter, who faces aggravated life imprisonment, brought her mother into the room with the song 'Malkata,' which she loved dearly, said 'See you later,' grabbed her from under her hips, lifted her feet off the ground, and threw her from the window at a height of 18 meters. It was noted that the song was part of a premeditated act, and the indictment also stated that the suspect investigated ways to leave the country after the incident.
INVESTIGATION INTO GULLU'S DEATH CONTINUES
Singer Gul Tut, known as 'Gullu,' died on September 26, 2025, after falling from the window of her home in a 6-story building on Vali Aki Street, Harmanlar Neighborhood, Çınarcık district. Following the investigation initiated by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, Gullu, whose autopsy was performed, was laid to rest in Istanbul. The singer's daughter, Tugyan Ulkem Gülter, and her friend Sultan Nur Ulu, who had given contradictory statements in their three previous testimonies, were taken into custody. Tugyan Ulkem Gülter was arrested on charges of 'intentional murder,' while house arrest was ordered for Sultan Nur Ulu.
INVESTIGATION COMPLETED AFTER 11 MONTHS
The investigation conducted by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was completed after 11 months. In the prepared indictment, the singer's daughter Tugyan Ulkem Gülter, listed as the primary suspect, was charged with 'premeditated intentional murder against a lineal ascendant,' with a demand for aggravated life imprisonment. The indictment noted that Gullu fell from the window of her daughter Tugyan's room, struck the concrete ground from a height of 18.17 meters, and died from internal bleeding due to skull and spinal fractures and multiple internal organ and major vessel injuries. The toxicology report also stated that Gul Tut's blood contained 3.53 promille alcohol, that the medications used were not at toxic levels, and there was no medical evidence indicating she was poisoned.
"DETERMINED SHE WAS BROUGHT TO THE ROOM WITH HER FAVORITE SONG"
It was established that Tugyan Ulkem Gülter asked her friend Sultan Nur Ulu to play 'Malkata,' a Romani-style song her mother loved, on the night of the incident, and the song was started on the phone as Gullu was coming out of the bathroom. It was noted that Gul Tut, upon hearing the music, came to her daughter's room saying, 'What's that?' and joined them in dancing to the Romani tune for a while. The prosecutor's office stated that the song was specifically played to lure Gul Tut into the room where the incident occurred and was part of the premeditated act.
SAID 'SEE YOU LATER' AND THREW HER OUT THE WINDOW
The indictment stated that Istanbul Technical University conducted a detailed analysis of camera audio recordings from the moment of the incident. In the expert report, it was assessed that just before the fall, a young woman's voice said 'See you later' in a mocking and cheerful tone. The prosecutor's office concluded that these words were spoken by Tugyan Ulkem Gülter. The indictment stated that immediately after these words, the suspect grabbed her mother with both hands under her hips, lifted her feet off the ground, and threw her out the window.
SULTAN NUR ULU'S MEETING WITH HER LAWYER ALSO INCLUDED IN INDICTMENT
It was stated that Sultan Nur Ulu, who was in the room during the incident, initially said Gul Tut was drunk and fell from the window in the early stages of the investigation, but in her later testimony described the incident as having occurred differently. The indictment also included Sultan Nur Ulu's statement that while Gul Tut was facing the window, Tugyan grabbed her mother under the hips with both hands, lifted her feet off the ground, and threw her down. In a recorded phone call with her lawyer, the witness was also found to have said that she did not want to pay for what Tugyan had done and that she would go to the prosecutor's office and tell the truth. The prosecutor's office assessed that this audio recording supported the witness's later testimony.
"ONE DAY I WILL THROW HER OUT THE WINDOW AND KILL HER"
The indictment included numerous messages and witness accounts alleged to show that Tugyan Ulkem Gülter had wanted her mother dead months before the incident. Three witnesses claimed that Tugyan told them she would 'one day throw her mother out the window and kill her.' Another witness recounted that the suspect made statements suggesting either her mother or herself would die. It was stated that in messages sent to her ex-boyfriend K. E. and relatives, the suspect used phrases such as 'I'm fed up with this mother of mine,' 'Let her die,' 'Let this woman die,' 'Isn't she dying, when?' and 'I'll do something big to her.'
"MENTALLY PREPARED FOR THE ACT"
The indictment also included that about 2 months before the incident, Tugyan sent a message to her ex-boyfriend K. E. saying, 'My mom is about to throw herself off.' The prosecutor's office considered this message as one of the indicators of the suspect's 'mental preparation process' for her act.
3 IMPACT SOUNDS AND 7 SECONDS OF SILENCE
In the raw camera recordings from the home, it was determined that three distinct impact or blow sounds were heard at short intervals before Gul Tut hit the ground. In the expert assessment, it was noted that the approximately 1.9-second interval between the second and third impact sounds largely overlapped with the time between Gul Tut's exit from the window and her hitting the concrete ground. It was stated that Gul Tut was approximately one meter away from Tugyan and Sultan in the room, yet for approximately 7 seconds after the first impact sound, no shouting or rescue reflex was heard from either of them. The prosecutor's office noted that this indicated Tugyan and Sultan witnessed the fall and that the event was not a sudden accident as described.
"PRESENCE OF EXTERNAL FORCE OR CONTACT MORE LIKELY THAN ACCIDENT"
No slippery substances were found in samples taken from the floor of the room where the incident occurred. It was stated that Gul Tut's medical records contained no findings of suicidal thoughts, and many witnesses described that the singer had a fear of heights. The expert committee opined that, considering Gul Tut's body structure and the height of the window, the presence of external force or contact for her to fall backward was more possible than an accident. The Forensic Medicine Institute, however, noted that it is medically impossible to distinguish whether the fall from height resulted from suicide, accident, or another person's influence, and that the incident must be clarified through judicial investigation.
IT WAS STATED THAT SHE DIRECTED TO DELETE MESSAGES
In the indictment, it was stated that Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter asked her ex-boyfriend K. E. after the incident to share his phone screen and delete the messages between them. It was also stated that the suspect pressured K. E. to remain silent during the live broadcast he joined, not to mention the night of the incident or the problems with her mother, and to say that her relationship with her mother was good. The prosecutor's office also noted that Tuğyan tried to keep Sultan Nur Ulu, the only eyewitness to the incident, constantly by her side, followed her when she met with someone else, and threatened her not to tell the truth.
IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THEY MADE A PHONE CALL TO GO ABROAD
It was recorded that Tuğyan and Sultan, at a hotel where they stayed in Istanbul after the incident, made a phone call with a person about how they could go abroad. In the call, Sultan was asked whether she had been threatened by Tuğyan, and Tuğyan intervened, saying, 'Of course I do; if she ever leaves me alone, I won't forgive her.' It was also shown among the supporting evidence in the indictment that the suspect changed her phone after the incident, restored the device to factory settings, and asked for some messages to be deleted.
'SERI KATIL DAVASI' GAME WAS FOUND TO BE REVIEWED ON HER PHONE
In Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter's digital materials, it was determined that she made internet searches such as 'When does drugs wash out of hair?', 'When does cocaine show up in hair?' and 'Does methamphetamine show up in hair?' It was also stated that the suspect reviewed online a boxed game named 'Unresolved cases, serial killer case, detective game, find the culprit.' However, no drugs or stimulants were detected in the hair samples taken from Tuğyan and Sultan. No criminal elements were found during searches conducted on the suspects, in their homes, and among their belongings.
CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE: PREMEDITATED
The Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, evaluating together the message records, witness statements, audio transcriptions, expert reports, and post-incident behaviors, recorded that Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter killed her mother with premeditation. In the indictment, it was requested that the detained suspect be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of 'Intentional killing against a lineal ascendant with premeditation.' It was also requested in the indictment that Sultan Nur Ulu, who was included as the 2nd defendant, be sentenced to up to 4 years in prison for the crime of 'False testimony.'
