Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry denied allegations that her ex-husband abused their son. Berry, arguing that the photo submitted to the court did not prove abuse, also opposed her son testifying in the custody dispute.

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has denied her ex-husband Olivier Martinez's allegations that she abused their son Maceo. Berry argued that a photo submitted to the court did not confirm any abuse or injury.

EX-HUSBAND SUBMITTED THE PHOTO TO COURT

Olivier Martinez alleged that in an incident he claimed occurred on September 26, Berry jumped on their 13-year-old son Maceo and choked him. Martinez had obtained a temporary restraining order against the actress.

In a new petition submitted to the court, Martinez claimed that the photo was taken by Maceo immediately after the incident. He alleged that the child had also been subjected to violence before but thought he was not believed.

“MY HANDS ARE IN MY POCKETS, I AM STANDING CALMLY”

Denying the allegations, Berry stated in her defense that the photo showed her several meters away from her son, with her hands in her pockets and calm. Arguing that the image did not confirm abuse, injury, or danger, the actress also stated that it showed no redness, bruising, or marks that would support the abuse allegation.

SHE OBJECTED TO HER SON TESTIFYING

Martinez stated that Maceo wanted to tell the court what he experienced in his own words.

Berry, however, opposed her son testifying. The actress said that this step would place the child in the middle of the contentious dispute between his parents and carried the risk of harming his mental health and his relationship with both parents.
